U.S. Representative Robin Kelly used her social media platform on September 9, 2025, to address economic and political issues as well as mental health awareness.

In a post from the early morning, Kelly wrote, "President Trump is crashing our economy. The unemployment rate rose to 4.3%, the highest level since the pandemic. Black Americans are suffering from a 7.5% unemployment rate, exposing our country’s economic injustice and signaling even worse job reports to come." (September 9, 2025).

Later that day, she commented on federal actions in Illinois: "Last week, Illinois Democrats demanded that President Trump cease his plans for the politically-motivated military deployment in Chicago. This is an unlawful power grab, not a response to an actual emergency." (September 9, 2025).

Addressing mental health concerns during Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, Kelly posted: "During #SuicidePreventionAwarenessMonth, I stand with every family affected by this public health crisis. Together, we can save lives. If you or someone you know is in crisis, call, text, or chat 988." (September 9, 2025).

Robin Kelly has represented Illinois's Second Congressional District for several terms and has won multiple general elections by wide margins over her opponents since at least 2014.
