U.S. Representative Robin Kelly, who has served Illinois’ 2nd congressional district since 2013, recently used her social media platform to address a range of issues from federal housing policy to community resilience in Chicago and constituent services.

On September 9, 2025, Kelly marked the anniversary of a key federal agency’s founding and criticized proposed changes to rental assistance programs. She stated, "Sixty years ago, the Department of Housing and Urban Development was created to help families secure a safe place to call home. That promise is now at risk because President Trump wants to limit rental assistance to 2 years. We must not go backward."

The following day, she addressed concerns about immigration enforcement in Chicago, posting on September 10: "President Trump and ICE aim to divide us, but Chicago is a city built on resilience. We will continue to overcome these threats together & grow stronger. Know your rights. Follow trusted news sources. Record any ICE encounters."

Later that same day, Kelly informed constituents about upcoming opportunities for direct engagement with her office: "Reminder: Next Wednesday, my office is coming to Pontiac City Hall for mobile office hours. Please come by if you need assistance from my staff with a federal agency! For any questions, call my Danville Office at 217-516-4556."

Robin Kelly has consistently secured reelection by wide margins over the past decade. In the most recent general election in 2022, she defeated Thomas Lynch with over two-thirds of the vote (67.1%). Previous elections saw similar outcomes: in 2020 against Theresa Raborn (78.8%), in 2018 against David Merkle (81.1%), in 2016 against John Morrow (79.8%), and in 2014 against Eric Wallace (78.5%).
