U.S. Representative Robin Kelly, who has served Illinois' 2nd congressional district since 2013, addressed several issues in a series of posts on September 11, 2025. Her statements ranged from commemorating the anniversary of the September 11 attacks to concerns about threats facing Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), as well as recognition of agricultural innovation in her district.

In her first post on the morning of September 11, Kelly reflected on the significance of the day: "24 years after September 11, 2001, we pause to honor the innocent lives lost, the survivors, and the heroes who answered the call to danger. I will #NeverForget them and remain grateful to all who served our nation in its darkest hour." (September 11, 2025)

Later that evening, she turned attention to ongoing threats against HBCUs: "It is deeply terrifying that HBCU students and faculty are once again targets of hateful extremism. As long as they have existed, HBCUs have been a refuge for Black students to learn. We must do everything we can to protect students and ensure they can continue their education" (September 11, 2025).

Kelly also highlighted advancements in agriculture within her district following a visit to an industry event: "Illinois farmers are leaders in agriculture. At the Farm Progress Show, I saw their innovation firsthand—from ISU research to John Deere's insights. I'm grateful for the 4,500+ farmers in IL-02 who are leading our nation's agriculture." (September 11, 2025)

Robin Kelly has maintained strong electoral support throughout her tenure in Congress. In recent elections she defeated Thomas Lynch in 2022 with over two-thirds of the vote; earlier victories include wins over Theresa Raborn in 2020 and David Merkle in 2018 by significant margins.
