Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner announced three new leadership appointments on Friday.
The governor named Kathryn Jean Olson the new chair of Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board. Olson is a current board member and dental director at Crusader Community Health. She has spent 12 years as clinic administrator at Milestone Dental Clinic in Rockford, nine years coordinating various programs in the Swedish American Health System and nearly two decades in private practice as a dental hygienist. Overall, Olson brings nearly four decades of health system experience to her new leadership role.
Rauner also appointed John McGlasson to serve on the board. Rauner's office praised McGlasson's diverse background in community services, business and local government as an asset to the Board's perspective.
The Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board is in charge of approving or denying the construction of new health facilities based on uniqueness of the location and type of services, with a priority on new buildings in underserved areas.
Governor Rauner also appointed Eastern Illinois Univeristy alumnus and experienced business manager Daniel Caulkins as a trustee at his alma mater. Caulkins is vice president and COO of Patterson House, Inc., which operates homes for adults with developmental disabilities. In total, Caulkins has more than four decades of experience in business and local government.
