The Village of Manteno Plan Commission will hold its regular meeting Tuesday in the Village Board Room.
The commission will hold public hearings and decisions on two requests: Jamon Toepper wants to allow a 1.1 foot variance for a foundation that was installed improperly within the regulated setback area, while another request asks for a set of three text amendments.
The first amendment would shrink the distance required between a curb cut and an intersection, the second amendment would resolve a discrepancy in the zoning code about the proper distance between a driveway and a property line and the third amendment would do away with a current zoning rule that requires animated and electronic signs not to change images more than once every eight seconds.
The final rule was in place to keep drivers from becoming distracted, but the commission has issued enough variances from the rule that it seems to make little difference.
Before adjourning, the commission will also discuss updates to a Dairy Queen and South Creek Animal Hospital.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
