The Manteno village board granted a variance Feb. 16 that will allow Joe and Kimberly Prno to build an addition onto their garage at 211 N. Maple St.
The variance was previously approved by the Manteno Planning Commission Feb. 9, following a public hearing on the request.
The 377-square-foot variance allows the Prnos to sidestep a local zoning code that limits accessory structures to 10 percent of the size of the lot.
