Kankakee Community College (KCC) recently announced two professors as the winners of the 2016 Outstanding Faculty Award.
Jessica Greminger, physical science and chemistry professor, and Scott Lemenager, religion and humanities teacher, won the awards.
Greminger, who is also the KCC Science Club advisor, was selected for her personal approach to teaching, as well as her knowledge and enthusiasm for her subject matter.
KCC officials described Lemenager as "a well-balanced individual" who has made exemplary contributions to his community, including facilitating programs for foreign exchange students and hosting more than a dozen students through the Safe Families program.
The professors were selected by the KCC Faculty Growth and Development Committee from a field of 52 candidates.
In addition to winning the award from KCC, the professors will be nominated for the Community College Trustees Association's outstanding faculty awards, which will be announced early this summer.
