Two players recently signed to join the Olivet Nazarene University men's basketball team, according to reports on the school's athletic website.
John Contant, a 6-foot-3 guard, comes to the program from Amos Alonzo Stagg High School in Hickory Hills. He averaged 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists a game as a senior and graduated with the fifth-most career points and the top career free-throw percentage (.860) at the high school. He received Illinois High School Association Class 4A All-State Honorable Mention status and was a All-South Suburban Conference pick. Biology/chemistry is expected to be his focus of study.
Tryston Swartz, a 6-1 guard, put up 7.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists a game for Elkhart (Indiana) Memorial High School. He also made 59 percent of his field-goal tries, which led the team. He is expected to study business management/administration.
