Bradley Public Library District Board of Trustees met April 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

President Bayer called the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of Bradley Public Library District to order at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017.

Present: Bayer, Grace, Rodgers, Benoit, Hendrickson and Richardson

Absent: Longtin

Also present: J. DePatis, Director, and J. Ponton, Recording Secretary

Approval of Minutes:

Moved by Trustee Hendrickson, seconded by Trustee Rodgers, that

Minutes of the March 15, 2017 Meeting Session be Approved as Submitted

Motion carried by unanimous vote

Public Comment - None

Treasurer’s Report

Moved by Trustee Richardson, seconded by Trustee Grace, that

Treasurer’s Report for March be Accepted as Submitted

Motion carried by roll call vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays and 1 absent

Director’s Report - [copy attached hereto]

50 new readers were registered and 8,479 items were issued in March.

Receipts: $417.96 fines on overdue books - $352.00 – fax - $790.00 – copies – $103.00 – lost/damage – $280.00 – fee cards - $18.25 – other.

Expenses: $123.02

The Library Director’s Report for March Accepted

Director DePatis stated the following:

Computers:

Fiscal year 2017 Erate 470 for staff internet access has been filed.

ComCast’s public internet upgrade is scheduled for Thursday, April 20th

Personnel:

Kris Kanoski has resigned her position at the Bradley Public Library.

Amber Ahlborn has been hired for the part time position at the Bradley Public Library.

Misc:

Property tax exemption renewal paperwork has been filed.

Committee Reports:

The Friends of the Library did not meet in March. The Friends of the Library reported that they received from the painting party $247.00, from booth rental at the craft show $675.00 and from the book sale $362.41.

Legal Committee met at 5:30 pm this evening to discuss trustee responsibilities and expectations for a new board member. Committee is still working on the list of responsibilities and expectations.

Unfinished Business:

Director DePatis stated that all of the trustees had completed their Statements of Economic Interest.

Director DePatis reported the all of the website content management options that she researched were more money than that the Bradley Public Library could expend at this time. Director DePatis is still researching alternative possibilities.

New Business:

Commercial and liability insurance renewals were received and renewal amounts as follows:

Umbrella – same as last year

General Liability - $72.00 increase over last year

Professional Liability – same as last year

Fiscal year 2017 per capita grant amount of $10,322.77 has been received. The funds may be delayed due to the no budget situation in Illinois.

The Northern Illinois Food Bank has chosen the Bradley Public Library to host the mobile food pantry for the following dates: June 14th, July 12th and August 9th.

The Bradley Public Library will once again participate in the Summer Food Service Program from June 5th through August 18th. During the Summer Reading Program, breakfast will be served on Tuesday and Thursday.

Applications are available for the vacant trustee position. One application has been given out to a library patron.

Communications:

A letter was received from concerned residents of Bradley concerning rest room usage.

The Emblem Club of Kankakee provided lunch for the library staff as a thank you for the usage of the meeting room for their monthly meetings.

Trustee Hendrickson moved for adjournment at 6:44 pm
