Bourbonnais Elementary SD 53 Board of Education met July 25.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The special meeting of the Board of Education of Bourbonnais Elementary School District No. 53, Kankakee County, Illinois was called to order by Board President Rob Rodewald on Tuesday, July 25 2017 at 6:01 pm at the Bourbonnais Elementary School District #53 Administrative Offices, 281 W John Casey Road, Bourbonnais IL.

1.02 Pledge of Allegiance.

1.03 The following members answered roll call:   Michael Jurka, Jamie Freedlund, Rich McBarnes, Nicole McCarty, Jayne Raef, Rob Rodewald.

Absent:  John Hall

Also Present:  Superintendent Daniel Hollowell, Ed.D.

2.01 Public Comments: - Mr. Rodewald opened the floor for public comments.  There were no public comments.   

2.02 Member Michael Jurka made the motion, seconded by Member Jayne Raef to enter closed session at 6:02 pm.  The following members answered roll call:  Michael Jurka, Jamie Freedlund, Rich McBarnes, Nicole McCarty, Jayne Raef, Rob Rodewald.

Absent:  John Hall

Also Present:  Superintendent Daniel Hollowell, Ed.D.

2.03 Discussion:  5 ILCS 120/2) (from Ch. 102, par. 42)  Sec. 2. Open meetings. (c) Exceptions.

A public body may hold closed meetings to consider the following subjects:

(1) The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity.

2.04 Discussion:  5 ILCS 120/2) (from Ch. 102, par. 42)  Sec. 2. Open meetings. (c) Exceptions.

A public body may hold closed meetings to consider the following subjects:

(2) Collective negotiating matters between the public body and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees.

2.05 Member Michael Jurka made the motion, seconded by Member Jamie Freedlund to return to open session at 6:55 pm.  The following voice votes where heard:  Ayes:  All.  Nays:  None.  Mr. Rodewald declared open session.

3.01 Member Rich McBarnes made the motion, seconded by Member Michael Jurka to adjourn meeting at 6:56 pm. The following voice votes where heard:  Ayes:  All.  Nays:  None.  Mr. Rodewald declared meeting adjourned.
