Village of Grant Park Board of Trustees met October 2.

Public Comments: Pastor John Marshal from the Baptist Church mentioned to the Board of an upcoming “Trunk & Treat” on Oct. 28th at the church. Also mentioned a water leak on the property, seeking help to get Aqua to arrive. Pres. Roth will speak to them, on their behalf.
*Motion to approve bills for payment: General fund <9/28/17 $23,109.64, Sewer fund $707.46,
Payroll <9/23/17 $22,245.20

Departmental reports:
Clerk Dillman: spoke of a request from People Source seeking a permit to go door to door to offer electric and gas discounts. After some discussion, the Board felt residents may become confused with the recent County aggregation on the electric bills. Pres. Roth will speak to them over this.
Streets & Alley, Veldhuizen: Spoke of upcoming culvert work 10/15/17 near the Heckler residence. Also that brush pick-up has been discontinued, and leaf pick-up has begun.
Finance, Dickson: no report
Treasurer, Graves: spoke that next year’s tax levy is due the end of November.
Sewer & Garbage, Morgan: due to the low rainfall, all is going well at the Sewer plant
Building & Grounds, Morse: Reported appx $9,000 profit from Octoberfest
*Motion to approve payment of $1,250 for Anthony Oreo Band for 9/18/18 (Keith Brach will sponsor the remainder of the band)

*Motion to approve Sunrise Tents for 2018 Octoberfest (40x100, $1150, 40x40, $450)

Ordinance & Insurance, Weidl:
*Motion to approve second reading Ordinance O-9-17-4 annexing wholly bounded territory (Hamilton Drive parcels)
Motion: Weidl 2nd: Morse Motion Carried 6-0
Reported “Fall in to Minions Mania” going on for the month of October in town
Law Enforcement, Coats: reported 126 police assists/calls for month of September
Chief Frey: reported issues with traffic on Rt. 17 with the increased traffic as of late
Pres. Roth: reported attending a meeting, and as a result wanted the Board to look in to replacing the signs as you enter town. It will be looked in to.
