CALL to ORDER and ROLL CALL

The Board of Education of Cissna Park Community Unit District #6 was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Vice-President Mark Wilkening, with the following Board members and administrators present: Mrs. Ashleigh Verkler, Mr. Jeremy Seggebruch, Mr. Jason Edelman, Mr. Nutz Weber, and Mr. Mark Wilkening; Dr. Daniel S. Hylbert, superintendent; Mrs. Bethanie Marshall, principal; and Mrs. Barbara Rust, board secretary.

APPROVAL of AGENDA

Mr. Seggebruch made the motion, seconded by Mr. Weber to Approve The Agenda as presented. Discussion. Vote: Ayes, all. Motion carried.

APPROVAL of CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS

Mr. Weber made the motion, seconded by Mr. Edelman to Approve The Recommended Action On The Following Consent Agenda Items As Presented: Iv. Minutes; V.B. Payroll; X.A. Review of Closed Session Minutes; and X.B. Destruction of Closed Session Audio Recordings. Vote: Mr. Seggebruch, aye; Mr. Edelman, aye; Mr. Weber, aye; Mr. Wilkening, aye; and Mrs. Verkler, aye. Motion carried.

APPROVAL of MINUTES

Mr. Weber made the motion, seconded by Mr. Edelman to Approve The Minutes Of The Last Meetings As Presented. Discussion. Vote: Ayes, all. Motion carried.

FINANCIAL REPORTS and PAYMENT of BILLS / PAYROLL

Mrs. Verkler made the motion, seconded by Mr. Seggebruch to Approve The Bills For The Month Of October As Presented: Education Fund, $68,180.58; Operations and Maintenance Fund, $14,885.43; Transportation Fund, $4,387.69; Tort Immunity, $902.43; and Fire Prevention and Life Safety Funds, $232.75. Discussion. Vote: Mr. Weber, aye; Mr. Wilkening, aye; Mrs. Verkler, aye; Mr. Seggebruch, aye; and Mr. Edelman, aye. Motion carried.

Mr. Weber made the motion, seconded by Mr. Edelman to Approve The Payroll For The Month Of October In The Amount Of $142,260.86. Discussion. Vote: Mr. Weber, aye; Mr. Wilkening, aye; Mrs. Verkler, aye; Mr. Seggebruch, aye; and Mr. Edelman, aye. Motion carried.

HEARING of DELEGATIONS

Mrs. Donna Verkler thanked the board and board member Ashleigh Verkler for allowing the junior high and high school students to attend the drug program at Watseka High School.

Mrs. Kristina Phelan asked the board about using One Call Now as a tool for announcing illnesses such as pink eye and lice.

COMMUNICATIONS

The following communications were given to the board: A FOIA request from American Watchdogs Inc. and Dr. Hylbert’s response; and a letter from Kevin Long related to retirement. Mr. Long asked the board to consider allowing him to continue to coach one year following his retirement. The board seemed accepting to this but instructed Dr. Hylbert to speak with the assistant basketball coach concerning this scenario.

REPORT FROM PRINCIPALS

Mrs. Bethanie Marshall, elementary principal, informed the board that the Cissna Park Education Foundation mini-grants have been announced. Mrs. Marshall thanked the foundation for their generosity. The Book Fair will run next week in conjunction with Parent/Teacher conferences; and the Life Education Center will be here next week for grades Kindergarten through sixth. In the absence of Mr. Mark Portwood, Mrs. Marshall announced that the high school girls’ volleyball program won the Sangamon Valley Conference tournament.

SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT
