Village of Bourbonnais Finance Committee met May 2.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

1.Roll Call:

Village President Paul Schore, Trustee Greenlee, Trustee Fischer, Trustee Keast and Trustee Littrell, Village Treasurer Riebe, Village Administrator Van Mill and Finance Director Wolf. Trustee King and Trustee Serafini were absent.

2. Review and approve Committee minutes:

A motion was made by Trustee Littrell and seconded by Trustee Greenlee to approve the committee minutes from April 11, 2018. Motion passed on a voice vote of 4-0.

3. Bills:

i. General funds bills reviewed: Committee approved.

ii. Special fund bills reviewed: Committee approved.

4. Other:

• Review of General Fund Operating Budget for Fiscal 2019 Finance Director presented the General Fund revenue projections. Committee members questioned several Department Heads regarding the General Fund expenditures in their respective departments. No changes were recommended.

•Review of March operating results - Finance Director reviewed the highlights of operation for the month of March.

•Review of bids on the final three HVAC units for the Municipal Center - Committee reviewed the bids and recommended the low bidder Precision Piping.

•Review of the lone bid for the generator for the Public Works building - Committee reviewed the lone bid and heard from Building Commissioner and the Assistant Public Works Director regarding the accuracy and capacity of the generator. Committee recommended approval.

•Review and approval for the Village sign at BBCHS Football Field - Committee approved the payment of $300 to the Boosters and requested that the sign be repainted with the new Village logo.

• Approval of Travel Expenses for ICSC Conference participants – Committee approved.

•Approval of travel expenses for Building Commissioner - Committee approved.

•Approval of travel expenses for Police Chief - Committee approved.

•Request donation or sponsorship for Fortitude Community Outreach Mission - Committee tabled this item until June to review the reaction of other municipal bodies before the Village acts.

•Request for a boom mower replacement for Public Works mowing - Public Works Director corrected the request as a zero turn mower. Committee approved the purchase.

•Review of an intergovernmental agreement with the Fire Protection District regarding the sharing of expenses to maintain the signal pre-empt system used by emergency vehicles.

5. Old Business:

•Report on cost of roof for Municipal Center - Assistant Public Works Director informed the Committee that the recent bids for the roof replacement at the Municipal Center will hold until June 1, 2018.

6. New Business:

•Mayor Schore indicated that there was interest in the Brown Bodies building. We should look into what infrastructure improvements we may be able to assist with.

7. Public Comments: None.

8. Adjournment and Time: A motion was made by Trustee Keast and seconded by Trustee Littrell to adjourn the Finance Committee meeting. Motion passed on a voice vote of 4-0 and the meeting adjourned at 6:01 p.m.
