Kankakee County Economic Development Council issued the following announcement on July 24.
Global air filtration leader AAF Flanders recently increased the capacity of its Momence, Illinois, operation by taking occupancy of 260,000 SF of additional space in neighboring Kankakee. The expansion accommodates the growing warehouse distribution needs of AAF Momence, which produces 110,000 air filters per day to serve 6 states in the Midwest market.
Adding to the company’s 325-person workforce in Momence, AAF anticipates employing 40 at its new Space Center distribution facility in Kankakee by Q4 2018. The company also has reported that the Momence production facility could add 100 employees and a third shift in the same time frame, as output reaches an estimated 160,000 to 170,000 filters per day.
Headquartered in Louisville, KY, AAF Flanders operates under parent company Daikin Industries Ltd. of Osaka, Japan, a diversified international manufacturing company and leader in air conditioning technology.
