RIVERSIDE HEALTH CARE: Riverside Inpatient Rehab Earns Three-Year CARF Accreditation

Health event recap 01

Riverside Health Care issued the following announcement on Aug. 21.

Riverside Medical Center’s Acute Rehabilitation Unit has been re-accredited by CARF International for a period of three years for its Adult Inpatient Rehabilitation Program.

“We are very proud to have earned this accreditation,” said Rebecca Schiltz, Riverside’s Director of Rehabilitation Services. “This tells the patients and families we serve that we are performing at the highest standard possible and they can take comfort in knowing the care we provide is among the best.”

Riverside’s CARF accreditation came with no recommendations, which according to the accrediting organization happens in only 3 percent of all CARF surveys, including domestic and international surveys.“This accreditation represents the highest level of accreditation that can be given to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards,” said CARF President and CEO, Brian Boon, PhD. “An organization receiving a three-year accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process. It has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit its commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality,” he said.

CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process and continuous improvement services that center on enhancing the lives of the persons served. Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF International, the accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.
