Village of Chebanse Village Board met Aug. 5.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Mayor Mathy called the Special Village Board meeting to order at 5:30 pm and announced that the Village would be taping. The following Trustees were present: Trustee Kohler, Trustee Odle, Trustee Randles and Trustee Snyder. Trustee Beherns and Trustee Perzee were absent. Also present were Mayor Mathy and James Smith from Maintenance. In the absence of Clerk Pasel, James Smith took the minutes.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Mathy

NEW BUSINESS:

SIDEWALKS: Mayor Mathy stated that the School Board has approved new sidewalks at the school. The School Board would like to know if the Village would help cover the cost by paying for the portion that is in the Village easement. A motion was made by Trustee Snyder and a second by Trustee Randles to pay $4,320.00 for the Village portion of sidewalk at the school, out of the General Fund. Vote:

Motion Carried

PAINTING MAINTENANCE SHED: A motion was made by Trustee Randles and a second by Trustee Odle to accept the bid from Tom Carrol to paint the maintenance shed roof in the amount of $3150.00 out of the General Fund. Vote:

Motion Carried

PUBLIC COMMENT: Mayor Mathy asked the Trustees if they had received any phone calls concerning the abandoned cars etc. Some of the concerns have been addressed and people are moving the cars. He also stated that we are willing to work with everyone on getting them moved if they need extra time.

ADJOURNMENT: A motion was made by Trustee Snyder and a second by Trustee Randles to adjourn the meeting. Vote:
