The special meeting of the Board of Education of Bourbonnais Elementary School District No. 53, Kankakee County, Illinois was called to order by Rob Rodewald at 6:30 PM at the Bourbonnais Elementary School District #53 Administrative Offices, 281 W John Casey Road, Bourbonnais IL.

1.02 Pledge of Allegiance

1.03 Roll Call - The following members answered roll call: Kelly Dunnill, John Hall, Jamie Freedlund, Rich McBarnes, Nicole McCarty, Jayne Raef, Rob Rodewald. The following members were absent and did not participate in the meeting in any manner or to any extent whatsoever: Jamie Freedlund

Other Attendees: Dr. Adam Ehrman, Superintendent

Public Act 101-0640, allows a public body to hold “an open or closed meeting by audio or video conference without the physical presence of a quorum of the members” during a public health disaster.

2.01 Public Comments-

2.02 Enter Closed Session Member John Hall made the motion, seconded by Member Jamie Freedlund to enter closed session at 6:31 PM.

2.03 The following members answered roll call: Kelly Dunnill, John Hall, Jamie Freedlund, Rich McBarnes, Nicole McCarty, Jayne Raef, Rob Rodewald. The following members were absent and did not participate in the meeting in any manner or to any extent whatsoever: None.

2.04 Closed Session (5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (21) Discussion of minutes of meetings lawfully closed under this Act, whether for purposes of approval by the body of the minutes or semi-annual review of the minutes as mandated by Section 2.06.

(1) The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity

Litigation, when an action against, affecting, or on behalf of the District has been filed and is pending before a court or administrative tribunal, or when the Board finds that an action is probable or imminent. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(11).

Minutes of meetings lawfully closed, whether for purposes of approval or semi-annual review. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(21).

2.05 Closed Session (5 ILCS 120/2) (from Ch. 102, par. 42) Sec. 2. Open meetings. (c) Exceptions. A public body may hold closed meetings to consider the following subjects: (1) The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity.

2.06 Return to Open Session - Member John Hall made the motion, seconded by Member Jamie Freedlund to return to open session at 6:54 PM. The following voice votes were heard: Ayes: All. Nays: None. Rob Rodewald declared open session.

3. Adjournment - 3.01 Member John Hall made the motion, seconded by Member Jamie Freedlund to adjourn special meeting at 6:55 PM. The following voice votes were heard: Ayes: All. Nays: None. Rob Rodewald declared special meeting adjourned.
