Reimagine Illinois, an initiative of the Illinois House Republican Caucus, outlines a plan for the caucus’ priorities in the 102nd General Assembly as Republican lawmakers encourage the state’s voters to “reimagine” what state government should look like with reduced corruption.

State Rep. Jackie Haas (R-Kankakee) and state Rep. Chris Bos (R-Lake Zurich) appeared in a joint video discussing Reimagine Illinois and what they intend to accomplish. They highlighted some of the ways they feel corruption has negatively impacted services and residents receiving them.

“I think that we know that, for far too long, Illinoisans have been paying a high price for corruption,” Haas said in the video.”We’re painfully aware that corruption decreases economic growth, and it discourages development in our state.”

Haas said that corruption has also disadvantaged the state's underserved population.

Some of the stated objectives accompanying the video include creating a state where corruption isn’t regularly making headlines and lawmakers are held accountable, improving fiscal responsibility among legislators, and improving access to healthcare and education across the state, as well as good-paying jobs. The initiative also aims to improve safety across the state and create neighborhoods that are free of violence.

In addition to encouraging state residents to learn more about the effort, the caucus has also created a petition which residents are encouraged to sign, supporting the initiative.
