Village of Grant Park Board of Trustees Met June 21.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

6:30PM Meeting Called to Order/ Pledge

Roll Call was taken, all present, except Ms. Bruni

*Motion to approve minutes from previous 6/07/21 meeting

       Motion: Morgan      2nd: Coats       Motion Carried 4-0-1     Raloff abstaining

Public Comments: Bob Riviaro

      Made comments pertaining to percentages of his tax bill, specifically the school, Village, and Fire Dept. He feels the Village should head up a front to split off some of the proceeds to assist the Fire Dept., due to their referendum failure. Also spoke to the redistricting in Illinois, Grant Park and other Villages should consider decoupling to Indiana. No comments replied.

*Motion to approve Bills for Payment: <6/18/21 General Fund $81,041.82, M.F.T. $1,097.64, Rebuild Illinois Fund $43,860.57, T.I.F. $631.36, Payroll <6/12/21 $16,076.67, Stipend <6/14/21 $1,275.00

        Motion: Morgan      2nd: Veldhuizen       Motion Carried 5-0-0

Departmental Reports:

Clerk Dillman: mentioned next meeting will be Tuesday 7/6/21 due to 4th of July

Streets & Alleys, Coats: had a committee meeting about sidewalks and alleys

Finance, Morgan: along with Pres. Hawkins, met with Joseph Hubbard about Treasurer position

Sewer & Garbage, Veldhuizen: no report, will hold committee meeting 7/6 @ 5:30PM

Building & Grounds, Bruni: in her absence, Mr. Morgan spoke of the recent Fest Committee meeting held, some decisions made with the 17 people in attendance. Fest will be two days, Fireworks, parade; Saturday night bands are in place (fireworks with pending School approval). Another meeting this Friday to plan more events.

Ordinance & Insurance, Raloff: spoke of new signage on North Main St. intersection

Law Enforcement, Wiedl: no report

Pres. Hawkins: treasurer appointment……..deferred

Recycle dumpster: discussion over past dumpsters, and how they were misused, tabled

Easement areas on west Taylor, that flood after heavier rains, possible resolution, deferred

Walking path has been approved from Hamilton St. to Casey’s, by IDOT, grant not to exceed $417,410

Dumpster use for multiple family dwellings has been approved, details being worked out

No Executive Session held
