Fifty-seven AMITA Health surgeons have been recognized as the top in their fields in the Chicago area, according to a study conducted by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., a healthcare research and information company. The full list was published in the October 2021 edition of Chicago magazine.
Castle Connolly invites licensed physicians across the U.S. to nominate peers as Top Doctors in any medical specialty and in any part of the nation. Physicians cannot nominate themselves and cannot pay to be named a Top Doctor. Each year, Castle Connolly receives nearly 100,000 nominations.
A physician-led Castle Connolly research team rigorously screens nominees. The team examines comprehensive information about each nominee, such as the nominee's medical education, training, board certifications, hospital appointments, administrative posts, professional achievements and malpractice and disciplinary history. After this careful review, Castle Connolly selects physicians for its Top Doctors lists.
