Village of Herscher Board of Trustees met Nov. 6.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Village President Shannon Sweeney called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. The following Trustees were present: Mike Bruner, Andy Cotter, Gayle Landeck, and Jacob Wagner. Jeremy Bauer and Skip Grigas was absent. Also present, Deputy Village Clerk Vannessa Weaver, Chief of Police Kurt Quick, Attorney Chris Bohlen, Public Works Superintendent Keith Witheft, Janet Mau from The Herscher Pilot, and Herscher resident Lauren Ruel.

Gayle Landeck moved to approve the Regular minutes of October 16, 2023; Mike Bruner seconded. All in favor. Motion carried. 2-0-2 Jacob Wagner and Andy Cotter abstained as they were absent from the last meeting.

Mike Bruner moved to approve the Executive minutes of October 16, 2023; Gayle Landeck seconded. All in favor; Motion carried. 2-0-2 Jacob Wagner and Andy Cotter abstained as they were absent from the last meeting.

STREETS:

Jacob Wagner let the Board know that all the cameras have been installed and they are just waiting for the antenna to come in to finish and get them up and running. Should be done in 10 days.

FINANCE:

Mike Bruner presented the Accounts Payable Report totaling $263,187.19 to the Board for payment. Mike Bruner moved to accept the accounts payable as presented. Jacob Wagner seconded. Roll call taken Jacob Wagner-aye, Mike Bruner-aye, Andy Cotter-aye, Jeremy Bauer-absent, Skip Grigas absent, and Gayle Landeck-aye. All in favor; Motion Carried.

Payroll presented totaled $21,722.61. Mike Bruner moved to accept payroll as presented, Jacob Wagner seconded. Roll call taken Jacob Wagner-aye, Mike Bruner-aye, Andy Cotter-aye, Jeremy Bauer-absent, Skip Grigas-absent, and Gayle Landeck-aye. All in favor; Motion Carried.

Mike Bruner added:

- The Treasurer’s Report for September shows a total in all accounts of $2,333,419.64.

PARKS:

President Shannon Sweeney asked Andy Cotter about the wildflowers and when they would like to move forward with burning at Horse Creek by Loin’s Park. Andy stated he will start looking into it.

WATER AND SEWER:

Mike Bruner let the Board know that the pressure testing has started on Maple and will hopefully be done in a week.

Mike Bruner let the Board know that patch work had been done from Myrtle to the end of the alley.

ORDINANCE:

Gayle Landeck said that the Village had 8 permits in the month of October for a total of $1,030.00.

Gayle Landeck asked the Board if they would be okay if she put together a budget for decorating the Village Hall as Richie Probst contacted her about doing something. Everyone agreed to move forward with this.

Gayle Landeck asked if we were going to do a stick pick up day this year, everyone agreed that there needs to be a day. November 18, 2023, will be the day for stick pick and Andy and AJ Cotter will do the picking up.

POLICE:

Chief Kurt Quick let the Board know that he will be attending the Village of Buckingham’s board meeting the following night to present them with the contract for hiring Herscher Police Department.

Chief Kurt Quick let the Board know that the cameras at Limestone School are up and running and he will be able to view those here in the office along with all the cameras around town.

OLD BUSINESS:

Jacob Wagner asked President Sweeney what was going on with Leiser’s and if they have submitted anything for the Grant money and if we are going to give them a timeline to get stuff done. President Sweeney said they are having some issues getting a contractors but he will reach out to them again.

NEW BUSINESS:

Nothing to report.

Motion to adjourn by Andy Cotter. Seconded by Jacob Wagner. All in favor. Motion carried.
