Highly-Regarded Teacher and Coach, Randall Greg Degenhart, Passes Away at 70

Randall Greg Degenhart, a highly-regarded teacher, coach, and community member, passed away on December 4, 2024, at the age of 70. Degenhart, who dedicated his life to education and coaching, leaves behind a legacy of impacting and inspiring numerous lives.

Degenhart, survived by his wife Sue, daughters Julie Hartke and Megan Reiter, and cherished grandchildren, was known for his dedication to teaching, coaching wrestling and cross country teams, and active involvement in his local church community.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Homes in Bourbonnais, with the funeral service taking place on Friday, December 13, 2024, at American Lutheran Church in Bourbonnais. Following the service, Cremation rites will be accorded.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
