Doris Yvonne Wood, aged 95, of Bourbonnais, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Miller Rehab Center in Kankakee. Born on August 10, 1929, in Watseka to J.D. and Birdie Marie McCarty, she married Oliver Wood in 1948 in Iroquois. An LPN, Doris worked at St. Mary’s Hospital and for Dr. Rizk. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and baking and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

Survived by daughters Yvonne Hurlburt and Teresa Girot, nephew Mike Oestreicher, grandchildren Jay Stich, Sarah Krich, Nathan Hurlburt, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband Oliver Wood, parents, sister Patricia, son-in-law Mike, and loyal companion dog, Gracie. Cremation rites observed. Memorial visitation on January 23, 2025, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Bradley, with inurnment at Buswell Cemetery in Kentland, IN. Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church or Iroquois Community Center. Arrangements by Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais.
