Later that day, she commented on the closure of Chuck's Gun Shop in the Second District. In her tweet from March 8, 2025, she highlighted its impact on local safety: "Chuck's Gun Shop in the Second District has finally closed. 1,000 guns found at crime scenes were purchased at that store. Families in Riverdale and beyond will now be safer."

On March 9, 2025, Kelly attended the national TRIO summit celebration and praised the organization's efforts in supporting students across the nation. She emphasized her dedication to youth empowerment by stating: "I attended the national TRIO summit celebration to honor the extraordinary contributions that the TRIO organization has made in supporting students nationwide. Empowering our youth is a top priority. The future is brighter with TRIO's help."
