The Manteno board of trustees approved a renewal of the Manteno Food Pantry's building lease Jan. 16.
The food pantry is operated by the Manteno Interfaith Commission. The renewed lease for the village-owned property at 205 N. Locust St. will keep the food pantry there for another five years.
The board said renewing the lease would be in the interest of the city because it would prevent a vacancy in a commercial corridor and prevent the village from being obligated to maintain the building.
