Bradley Public Library District Board of Trustees met October 18.

President Bayer called the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of Bradley Public Library District to order at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2017.
Present: Bayer, Rodgers, Fisher and Richardson
Absent: Benoit, Grace and Hendrickson
Also present: J. DePatis, Director and J. Ponton, Recording Secretary
President Bayer appointed Trustee Rodgers as Acting Secretary.

51 new readers were registered and 7,438 items were issued in September.
Receipts: $485.60 fines on overdue books - $300.00 – fax - $593.60 – copies – $143.90 – lost/damage - $140.00 – fee card - $22.25 – other.

Director DePatis stated the following:
Continuing Ed:
Director DePatis watched a RAILS webinar by the Management Association on employee handbooks.
Marie Cowden and Director DePatis attended the PrairieCat Users Group annual workshop day on September 29, 2017.
Chris Temple went to NASA Lunar and Meteorite Loan program workshop on October 2, 2017.
Electronic Resources:
Zinio is now called RB Digital. Director DePatis opted to join a shared e-magazine collection of 50 titles at a lower cost than the 20 titles, the library had been getting. Down side to this choice is that it is not branded for Bradley Public Library.
Ancestry and Heritage Quest have been discontinued due to lack of use.
Miscellaneous:
Northern Illinois Food Bank sponsored snack program began on September 18, 2017. Snacks will be served on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm.
Committee Reports:
Legal Committee:
As part of the personnel handbook update, a copy of the revised employment classification was distributed to each trustee for review. This revision will be voted upon at the next meeting.
Friends of the Library:
The Friends of the Library met on October 4, 2017. Upcoming events are the Fall Craft Show on Nov. 18th, Fall Book Sale will also be held on the same day, and the Gingerbread House project on Dec 9th. The Friends also purchased a new popcorn machine for the Library. Next meeting will be held on Weds., November 1, 2017 at 6:30PM.
Unfinished Business:
The chairs that were to be reupholstered have been completed and returned. Cost of the repair was exactly $4,100.00.
Fiscal year 2018 per capita grant requirements, safety training videos made available by RAILS. were viewed by several trustees.
New Business:
Director DePatis distributed to each trustee a copy of the Fiscal Year 2016-2017 Annual Audit Report for each trustee to review. If a trustee has a question, they should contact Director DePatis do that she can get an answer before the next meeting.
Moved by Trustee Rogers, seconded by Trustee Fisher to to adopt Ordinance 17-04for the Levy of Taxes for the Bradley Library District for Fiscal Year 2018-2019

Moved by Trustee Bayer, seconded by Trustee Rodgers to dispose of surplus library items. WII music accessories and 20 to 30 black chairs to be sold at a price of $5.00 apiece.

Per capita grant requirements for 2018 – Literacy and Trustee Facts File Chapter 1-5 was distributed to each trustee for them to review.
Communications:
A thank you note was received from the Northern Illinois Food Bank for their participation in the Summer Food Program.
