Village of Chebanse Village Board met April 15.

Mayor Mathy called the Regular Village Board meeting to order at 7:00 pm and announced that the Village would be taping and Kathy Washington from the Advocate would be taking notes.
The following Trustees were present: Trustee Beherns, Trustee Kohler, Trustee Odle, Trustee Perzee, Trustee Randles and Trustee Snyder. Also present were Mayor Mathy, Clerk Pasel, James Smith from Maintenance and Attorney Hiatt

APPROVAL OF REGULAR MINUTE: A motion was made by Trustee Beherns and a second by Trustee Randles to approve the March 18, 2019 Village Board meeting minutes with the addition of adding Attorney Hiatt as attending the March 18, 2019 meeting. Vote:

STERLING CODIFIERS: Attorney Hiatt stated that the book is in publication and should be finished soon.
ABANDON BUILDINGS: Attorney Hiatt reported that yes we can go onto private property to inspect as long as the property is unoccupied. If the property is occupied, we have to give notice before we go onto it. Trustee Beherns stated that in part, that did answer his question. The concern the resident had was what can be done with empty buildings sitting vacant an becoming a waste.
REPORTS OF COMMITTEES: Trustee Perzee stated that there was a Finance Committee meeting before the Regular Village Board meeting.

PICKLE BALL COURT: Andrea Adams explained to the Board what Pickleball was. It is a new up and coming sport that is a combination of badminton, tennis and table tennis and is played by all ages. She asked the Board if they would be interested in using part of the tennis court as a Pickleball court. The cost would be around $800.00 to mark the court and purchase a net. A motion was made by Trustee Perzee and a second by Trustee Beherns to put in Pickleball courts at the Civic Center with a cap of $1,000.00. Vote:

TOM AND TAMMY SEEDORF PARKING: Mayor Mathy stated he was questioned by Tom Seedorf in reference to getting a parking permit to put his camper in the truck parking area. Mayor Mathy informed him that that was not the intent of the area but he would bring his question to the Board. Trustee Beherns stated the area was set up for Semi parking. Trustee Perzee stated it was also for the noise of the trucks. Trustee Odle stated that we have told someone else that they could not park his trailer there. The Board was in agreement to leave the parking as Truck parking only. A motion was made by Trustee Perzee and a second by Trustee Randles to make the permitted truck parking area just permitted truck parking. Vote:

MAINTENANCE SHOP CONCRETE PAD: James stated that we have talked about building a structure behind the Maintenance Shed last year. The structure was approved but not the concrete. He has a quote of $5600.00. He should be able to do the excavation and that would take some off of the bid. A motion was made by Trustee Beherns and a second by Trustee Snyder to approve $5400.00 for a 20x40 concrete pad with James doing the excavation. Vote:
