COMMUNICATIONS: Mayor Mathy stated that we received a Thank You letter from the FOP for the Shop with a Cop donation.

PUBLIC COMMENT: Resident Karen Alexander addressed the Board concerning the recent flooding at her house located on First South Street. Her basement has flooded again with approximately 12 inches of water. She had work done to improve the drainage around the house as well as the basement, but it still is a reoccurring problem. Outback Pumping informed her that the only way to stop the flooding is to cut and cap the line from the tile to her house. She would like some assistance from the Village with the excavating of the tile. She also asked the Board if she could get some of her financial costs recouped. She has spent over $6,000.00 to try and fix the drainage problem. Trustee Beherns asked what type of work she had done. Response was the elevation was raised, gutter extensions, French drain put in and a larger sump pump. Trustee Perzee asked if we could cap a tile. James responded yes, the line from her house to our tile can be capped. Mayor Mathy stated he has some concerns with the Village doing this and setting a precedence. Trustee Beherns stated that in the past when we have had issues like this, it was advised that it was the homeowner’s responsibility to exhaust every possibility on their property before it became a Village responsibility. Mayor Mathy stated that the item was not on the agenda so the Board could not take action. The resident was agreeable to wait until next month.

ADJOURNMENT: A motion was made by Trustee Beherns and a second by Trustee Snyder to adjourn the meeting. Time 8:05 pm. Vote:
