Village of Chebanse Village Board met April 20.
Here is the minutes provided by the board:
Mayor Mathy called the regular Village board meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the meeting was held at the Civic Center located at 180 W. First South St. Chebanse, IL 60922. Mayor Mathy announced that the Village would be taping the meeting.
The following Trustees were present: Trustee Kohler, Trustee Odle, Trustee Perzee, Trustee Randles and Trustee Snyder. Also present were Mayor Mathy, Attorney Hiatt, Clerk Pasel and James Smith from Maintenance.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Mathy
APPROVAL OF REGULAR MINUTES: A motion was made by Trustee Perzee and a second by Trustee Randles to approve the March 16, 2020 Board meeting minutes. Vote: Kohler Aye Odle Aye Perzee Aye 5 Ayes, 0 Nays Randles Aye Motion Carried Snyder Aye
APPROVAL OF TREASURER’S REPORT: A motion was made by Trustee Perzee and a second by Trustee Snyder to approve the March 30,2020 Treasurer’s Report. Vote: Kohler Aye Odle Aye Perzee Aye 5 Ayes, 0 Nays Randles Aye Motion Carried Snyder Aye
BILL STATEMENT: A motion was made by Trustee Snyder and a second by Trustee Perzee to approve the Bill Statement for April 20, 2020. Vote: Kohler Aye Odle Aye Perzee Aye 5 Ayes, 0 Nays Randles Aye Motion Carried Snyder Aye
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
ADULT USE CANNABIS: NO ACTION TAKEN
GARY SEEDORF: NO ACTION TAKEN
REPORTS OF COMMITTEES: Trustee Perzee stated that the Budget meeting will be held at 6:00 before the May 18, 2020 meeting.
REPORT OF VILLAGE OFFICERS: James reported that the water tower has been put on hold until after the restrictions have been lifted from the Corona virus.
NEW BUSINESS:
LIQUOR LICENSE RENEWALS: A motion was made by Trustee Perzee and a second by Trustee Randles to waive the Liquor License renewal fees for all businesses for the 2021 year. Vote: Kohler Aye Odle Aye Perzee Aye 5 Ayes, 0 Nays Randles Aye Motion Carried Snyder Aye
PENALTY/SHUT OFF’S: A motion was made by Trustee Perzee and a second by Trustee Snyder to extend the penalty fees, shut offs and any fees associated with both until June 1, 2020. Vote: Kohler Aye Odle Aye Perzee Aye 5 Ayes, 0 Nays Randles Aye Motion Carried Snyder Aye
TREES: A motion was made by Trustee Perzee and a second by Trustee Randles to have 3 trees removed not to exceed $1600.00. Vote: Kohler Aye Odle Aye Perzee Aye 5 Ayes, 0 Nays Randles Aye Motion Carried Snyder Aye
