Iroquois County Board met April 14.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Iroquois County Board met in Recessed Session at 9 A.M. The meeting was conducted electronically, via conference call, under the Governor Executive Orders 20-7 and 20-18. The orders were issued in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, they require social distancing measures to be taken to stop the spread of the highly contagious virus. The orders also suspend certain provisions of the Illinois Open Meetings Act to allow for public bodies to continue their course of business during the public health emergency. Chairman Shure called the meeting to order and asked County Clerk Lisa Fancher to call the roll.

It was moved by Mr. McGinnis and seconded to approve the agenda. The motion carried by a voice vote.

MINUTES

It was moved by Mr. Alt and seconded to approve the minutes from the March 10, 2020 Recessed Session County Board meeting. The motion carried by a voice vote.

PAYROLL

It was moved by Mrs. Offill and seconded to approve the March payroll. The motion carried by a roll call vote.

PUBLIC COMMENTS

Charlie Alt, member of the University of Illinois Extension, said he attended an extension meeting via conference call, where they reviewed the budget. They also talked about upcoming County Fairs and have not decided as to whether or not the four fairs in the district would be held. Two are normally held in June and two are held in July.

CHAIRMAN COMMENTS

There were no Chairman comments.

RESOLUTION NO. R2020-5

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A DEED OF CONVEYANCE FOR PARCEL #27-02-404-008, CERTIFICATE 2014-335

(Resolution No. R2020-5 has been recorded and placed on file in the County Clerk’s Office.)

Resolution No. R2020-5, a Resolution Authorizing the Execution of a Deed of Conveyance for Parcel #27-04-404-008, Certificate 2014-335 was presented for approval. It was moved by Mr. Bowers and seconded to approve Resolution No. R2020-5 as presented. The motion carried by a roll call vote.

APPOINTMENTS

Chairman Shure presented the following appointments. It was moved by Mr. Ducat and seconded to approve the appointments as presented. The motion carried by a voice vote.

Fire District Appointments:

Joel Davenport of 401 E. Center, Sheldon, IL as Trustee of the Sheldon Fire Protection District for a term to expire on the first Monday of May, 2023.

Jody Roberts of PO Box 36, Beaverville, IL as Trustee of the Beaverville Fire Protection District for a term to expire on the first Monday of May, 2023.

Robert Kissack of PO Box 155, Stockland, IL as Trustee of the Stockland Fire Protection District for a term to expire on the first Monday of May, 2023.

Kim Nakaerts of 905 E 2900 North Rd, Clifton, IL as Trustee of the Chebanse Fire Protection District for a term to expire on the first Monday of May, 2023.

Sam Sweeney of PO Box 321, Ashkum, IL as Trustee of the Ashkum Fire Protection District for a term to expire on the first Monday of May, 2023.

Eastern Illinois Economic Development Authority:

Ken Barragree of 210 S 5th, Watseka, IL as member of the Eastern Illinois Economic Development Authority for a term from the third Monday of 2019 until the third Monday of 2025.
