The Regular Meeting of the Board of Education of Bourbonnais Elementary School District No. 53, Kankakee County, Illinois was called to order by Board President Rob Rodewald on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 7:00 PM at Administrative Office, 281 W John Casey Road, Bourbonnais, IL.
1.02 Pledge of Allegiance
1.03 Roll Call The following members were physically present at said location: Kelly Dunnill, John Hall, Jamie Freedlund, Rich McBarnes, Nicole McCarty, Jayne Raef, Rob Rodewald.
The following members were allowed by a majority of the members of the Board of Education in accordance with and to the extent allowed by rules adopted by the Board of Education to attend the meeting by video or audio conference: No member was not permitted to attend the meeting by video or audio conference.
Public Act 101-0640, allows a public body to hold “an open or closed meeting by audio or video conference without the physical presence of a quorum of the members” during a public health disaster.
The following members were absent and did not participate in the meeting in any manner or to any extent whatsoever: None.

2.01 Recognition of Staff -
●Bourbonnais Elementary School District 53 recognized and congratulated Emily Bertrand and Jackie Tingley for being named to the 40 under 40 list by the Kankakee Chamber of Commerce. Congratulations Emily and Jackie!
●October is National Principals Month. Bourbonnais Elementary School District 53 recognized our Principals and Associate Principals and thanked them for their hard work.

2.02 Recognition of Students
●Bourbonnais Elementary School District Upper Grade Center recognized the BUGC Varsity Baseball team for winning the regional championship on Saturday, September 26th. The team defeated Manteno by a score of 12-0. We are proud of our players and coaches for a job well done!!

Ms. Lundmark commented that teachers are frustrated because contract negotiations are going to mediation.

●Mrs. Bicknell thanked everyone that participated in the scarecrow contest. She also thanked nurses for making sure that the students are complying with COVID restrictions.

5. Mission of Bourbonnais Elementary School District #53 is to: Collaborate with staff, students, families, and community
5.01 District Phone/Remote Meeting System Upgrade - Mr. Roger Hale, Director of Technology
Mr. Hale presented options to replace the 13 year old district phone system and the remote meeting system. Mr. Hale received quotes from CNG and 2nd Gear. The recommendation is to proceed with the quote from CNG for the phone system and use G Suite Enterprise for the remote meeting system. The project will be paid for with a combination of the Technology budget and CARES Act funds.
Motion by Jane Raef, second by Nicole McCarty to approve the District Phone/Remote Meeting System Upgrade as presented. The following voice votes were heard: Kelly Dunnill, Jamie Freedlund, John Hall, Rich McBarnes, Nicole McCarty, Jayne Raef, Rob Rodewald. Nays: None. Absent: None. Final Resolution. Motion Carries.

5.03 MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) Between BESD #53 and the BEA as recommended by the BESD #53 PERA Joint Committee - Dr. Adam Ehrman, Superintendent
Motion by Rich McBarnes, second by Rob Rodewald to approve the MEMORANDUM
OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) as presented. The following voice votes were heard:
