The meeting of the Kankakee County Planning, Zoning & Agriculture Committee was called to order by Committee Chairman, Mr. Fetherling at 9:00am. The following members were present:

Mr. Fetherling, Mr. Miller, Ms. Peters, Mr. Fairfield, Mr. Snipes, Mr. Dunnill, Mr. Ekhoff, Mr. Kerkstra, Ms. Hudson, Mr. Alexander-Hildebrand, Mr. Gowler and Mr. Wheeler

Members Absent –Mr. Payton, Mr. Tholen, Mr. Swanson, Ms. Bryan, Mr. Collins and Mr. Sirois

Quorum – Present 

Mr. Fairfield makes a motion allow Ms. Hudson to be present by zoom, and Mr. Gowler seconds it. Motion carried with a voice vote. 

Department Heads Present – Theresa Goudie, Anita Speckman, Delbert Skimerhorn, Ben Wilson

Media Present – None

Public Commentary – None

Minutes of the Last Meeting 

The minutes of March 16, 2022 were submitted to the committee for approval.

Mr. Dunnill made a motion to approve and Mr. Ekhoff seconded the motion. Motion passed with a voice vote.

Building Report 

Building Report – March 2022

Mr. Skimerhorn reviewed the report with the committee.

Mr. Kerkstra made a motion to Approve and Ms. Hudson seconded it. Motion carried with a voice vote. 

Planning 

• Document Digitalization

Mr. Skimerhorn advised the committee that he would like to obtain bids for digitalization of documents for the planning department.

Mr. Kerkstra made a motion to approve getting bids, and Mr. Snipes seconded it. Motion carried with a voice vote. 

Zoning 

• 2022 Zoning Map

Mr. Skimerhorn provided the committee with a 2022 zoning map for review. Discussions were held.

Mr. Miller made a motion to approve, and Mr. Fairfield seconded it. Motion carried with a voice vote. 

Transportation 

• Approval of RFP for Bus Shelter Purchase/Installation

Mr. Wilson reviewed the request for proposals with the committee.

Mr. Kerkstra made a motion to move forward, and Ms. Peters seconded it. Motion carries with a voice vote.
