Chicago Museums Offer Free Admission to Illinois Residents

Museums across Chicago have announced free admission days for Illinois residents this month. The Field Museum is offering free admission to Illinois residents on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Guests can register online ahead of time to secure a free admission ticket.

The Swedish American Museum provides free admission to everyone on the second Tuesday of every month. The museum is open on specific days and times during the week, and interested guests should register online for free entry.

The Museum of Science and Industry's next free day for Illinois residents is on April 21, operating from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting April 8. Visitors can obtain a free admission ticket by visiting the museum's website.

The National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture offers free admission daily during specific hours throughout the week. Similarly, the DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center provides free admission to Illinois residents, military, and first responders on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The National Museum of Mexican Art allows free entry each day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Illinois residents can enjoy free admission to the Chicago History Museum on specific dates in April by registering online.

Lastly, the Shedd Aquarium grants free admission to Illinois residents on select dates in April, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on designated Tuesday nights. Guests are encouraged to register online in advance.
